NEW YORK – One of the most valuable domain name in the world, sex.com, will be auctioned online next week. It is expected that the price reaches $14 million or Rp. 140 billion ($1 equals Rp. 10.000).

This domain name is about to go on the internet auction on March 18, 2010 by DOM Partners LLC, a company that borrows the domain name from the partner company Escom LLC, and registered in New York law firm, Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf LLP.

At the auction, as Reuters said on Tuesday (9/3/2010), sex.com will be first offered at a price of $ 1 million. This is a rare event in the internet world cause only a few times a domain name is successfully auctioned. Sex.com auction is expected to reach the same price as it’s purchased in 2006 at about $14 million. Previously, domain name pizza.com has also attracted the attention of bidders with a very good price, which is approximately $2.5 million in 2008.
