No Google Toolbar for Firefox 5+

Google claims that Google Toolbar will no longer support the Firefox browser versions 5 and above. The company stated that the Google Toolbar for Firefox only works for Firefox browsers under 5.

As quoted from Pocket-Lint, on Monday (7/25/2011), the Firefox users who have been using Firefox 5 and waiting patiently for the power of Google Toolbar in their latest Firefox version seem to be disappointed because Google no longer supports these features for Firefox.

Google has confirmed that the Google Toolbar for Firefox will no longer be updated and stated the reason that the browser already has its own development as well as extra features.

«As we already know, over the last few years, there have been some great innovations for Internet browsers,» Google wrote the statement, on the Google Toolbar blog.

«For Firefox users, there are many features that were once offered by the Google Toolbar for Firefox, which is now already built in the browser. Google Toolbar for Firefox now only works on Firefox 4 and will not support the Firefox browser versions 5 and above,» they added.

This move clearly indicates that Google is more in favor of their own browser, Chrome. But despite that, Google provides Firefox users links to download the Firefox add-ons that have similar Google toolbar functionality to expand the toolbar feature independently.
